After a great day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom including our Up Close with Rhinos and Caring for Giants tours, we headed over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge for our character dinner reservation at Storybook Dining at Artist Point, one of the most enchanting character dining experiences at Disney World. We arrived around 20 minutes before our reservation time, which allowed us to explore the lodge’s beautiful, rustic grounds.  Keep in mind that advance dining reservations for this popular experience are often booked up months in advance! This magical dinner was part of our seven-day Disney World adventure

Whimsical Setting and Theming at Storybook Dining

The moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were welcomed by the whimsical ambiance of an enchanted forest. The setting instantly evokes the magic of Disney, with tree-like structures, glowing lanterns, and forest-inspired decor that makes you feel like you’ve entered Snow White’s world. My kids were immediately captivated, and even the adults couldn’t help but be charmed by the surroundings.

Character Interactions at Storybook Dining: Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen

Not long after we were seated, the magic began as Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy made their way around the dining room. Each character took time to visit with us, pose for photos, and sign autographs, bringing the fairytale experience to life. My son, who’s typically not very interested in character interaction, was surprisingly delighted by Dopey and Grumpy, while my daughter was absolutely enchanted by Snow White’s grace and friendliness. The characters’ interactions were genuine, and it was clear they took their time to make each guest feel special especially the little ones!

Storybook Dining Prix Fixe Menu Review: A Feast in the Enchanted Forest

Storybook Dining at Artist Point offers a prix fixe menu with creative and delicious options to suit everyone’s tastes, including vegan and kid-friendly options. We started with the wild mushroom bisque (mushroom soup), which was served in a tiny cauldron—a fun touch that made the rich, earthy flavors feel all the more magical. The appetizers were family-style and included a fresh, whimsical array of small bites, each plated with intricate attention to detail.

The dinner reservation includes a character dinner and offers a prix fixe menu with great options such as a royal prime rib roast, beef stroganoff, pork shank, as well as vegan options.  The wild mushroom bisque appetizer was a standout dish.  The attention to detail in the décor and presentation was amazing; every serving dish and appetizer display was crafted to evoke a woodland setting, enhancing the fairytale experience.

Delectable Desserts with a Fairytale Twist

Dessert was just as magical as the main course, featuring treats like a poison apple mousse, a fairy tale gooseberry pie, and cookies and cream panna cotta served with woodland-inspired touches. Each dessert felt like a piece of art, crafted to fit the enchanted forest theme and make guests feel like they were savoring treats from Snow White’s world. The poison apple was a standout, with a perfect balance of tart and sweet, while the panna cotta was a creamy, delightful finish to the meal.

A Photo Op With The Evil Queen

After dessert, we were led to a special photo opportunity with the Evil Queen herself—a fantastic way to wrap up the evening! This was a highlight, as the Evil Queen stayed perfectly in character, giving my daughter a memorable experience and adding a playful twist to the night. She struck dramatic poses and interacted with everyone in a way that was both humorous and fitting to her villainous role.
