Disney vacations can be expensive—especially for families who want to visit more than once. For out-of-state Disney fans, the big question often becomes whether an annual pass can actually make sense compared to buying individual tickets each trip.
This guide explains how families decide whether the Disney Incredi-Pass makes sense — and how it fits into a points-based Disney strategy. With the right approach, families can visit Disney World more often while keeping overall costs under control.
This walkthrough reflects how we’ve used the Incredi-Pass alongside a points-based strategy. Results vary based on travel timing, family size, and availability—but this example shows what’s possible when the pass is used strategically.
Incredi-Pass Snapshot
This strategy tends to work best for:
- Families planning multiple Disney trips within a year
- Out-of-state visitors who want maximum flexibility

- Families planning only one or two short trips

How the Incredi-Pass Fits Into a Points-Based Disney Strategy
How to Pay for an Annual Pass Using Points and Gift Cards
To reduce the upfront cost of the Incredi-Pass, we use Disney gift cards purchased at supermarkets with rewards credit cards. This allows us to earn points on everyday grocery spending while setting aside funds specifically for Disney expenses.
- Supermarket Purchases: Both cards offer bonus points for purchases at U.S. supermarkets, including gift cards. Every week at the supermarket, I buy Disney gift cards to save up for the season passes.
- Points for Hotels: The points we earn buying the gift cards go straight into our Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors accounts, which we’ll use to book off-property hotels near Disney for free or at a significant discount.
- TopCashBack: You can buy Disney Gift cards to pay for your Incredi-pass at TopCashBack and earn 5.67% cash back ($85 cash back on the cost of an Incredi-Pass).
By stacking these rewards, we’re essentially paying for part of our Disney vacations with the perks we get from regular spending on groceries.

Want to offset the cost of your Incredi-Pass?
Use TopCashback to buy Disney gift cards through partnered retailers and earn cashback on the purchase. Then use those gift cards to pay for your Incredi-Pass—and stack your way into even more Disney savings. Or, save up your TopCashback rewards and redeem them for a Disney gift card to cover part of your annual pass. Learn how in our Disney cashback stacking guide.

Stack Cashback + Points for Extra Disney Savings
Turn everyday shopping, travel bookings, and gift cards into Disney savings — and see how we stack cashback with points to save $600–$1,400 per year on tickets, dining, and extras.
Accommodations: Using Points for Hotels
Instead of staying on Disney property, we’re using points to book hotels nearby. While we’ll miss out on some on-site perks, we’ll save hundreds of dollars per trip and stay in comfort using travel reward points. Additionally, we’ll have the flexibility to explore different dining options off-site, which can enhance our overall experience. Plus, by utilizing our rewards strategically, we’re also learning how to use points for tickets, allowing us to maximize our savings even further. Ultimately, this approach grants us the opportunity to enjoy the trip without the financial strain typically associated with a stay at a resort hotel.
What Is the Disney World Incredi-Pass and Who Can Buy It?
Walt Disney World offers several annual pass options, but the Disney Incredi-Pass is the only annual pass available to out-of-state visitors who are not Disney Vacation Club members.
At first glance, an annual pass can feel expensive. The reason families consider the Incredi-Pass isn’t because it’s cheap upfront — it’s because it can replace the cost of buying park tickets over and over again. When used for multiple trips, the math shifts quickly compared to purchasing separate multi-day tickets each visit.
For families who plan to return to Disney more than once in a relatively short period of time, the Incredi-Pass changes how ticket costs are spread across the year.
Why the Incredi-Pass Can Make Financial Sense for Frequent Visitors
The Incredi-Pass tends to make the most sense for families who:
- Plan multiple Disney trips rather than a single long vacation
- Want the flexibility to visit for shorter stays
- Would otherwise be buying multi-day park tickets repeatedly
Instead of paying for tickets each trip, the pass allows families to reuse the same admission across visits, which can significantly reduce the effective cost per trip over time.
The financial value compounds further when you factor in:
- Parking that would otherwise be paid daily
- Passholder discounts on dining and merchandise
- The ability to visit without worrying about ticket prices fluctuating between trips
The more often the pass is used, the more favorable the overall economics become.
Incredi-Pass Benefits That Contribute to Savings
While the Incredi-Pass includes convenience and flexibility perks, several benefits directly impact overall trip costs when used consistently.
Key benefits include:
- Complimentary standard theme park parking, which adds up quickly across multiple park days
- Dining discounts at select table-service and character dining locations
- Merchandise discounts at select Disney shops and Disney Springs
- Park Hopper access, eliminating the need to upgrade tickets separately
- Optional PhotoPass access, which can replace purchasing individual ride photos
- No blockout dates, allowing families to travel when it makes sense for them—not just when tickets are cheapest
Individually, these savings may feel small. Across multiple trips, they can meaningfully reduce overall Disney spending.
Park Reservations and Planning Considerations
Disney World annual passholders generally need to make park reservations in advance to enter the theme parks. However, on select dates designated as Good-to-Go Days, reservations may not be required.
Managing reservations through the My Disney Experience app is a key part of planning trips with an annual pass and allows families to coordinate visits around school breaks, long weekends, and short getaways.
For a comparison of annual passes versus purchasing individual tickets for each trip, see our guide on how to use points for Disney World tickets and alternative ticket strategies.
Breaking Down the Incredi-Pass Value for a Family
Planning multiple Disney trips is exciting—but it’s also a financial decision. The Incredi-Pass tends to make sense when families plan several trips within a relatively short period, because it replaces the need to purchase park tickets over and over again.
In our case, we looked at what it would cost to buy individual multi-day tickets for each trip, including parking, versus using annual passes across those same visits. When you stack several trips together, the difference becomes obvious: repeated ticket purchases add up quickly, while the annual pass cost stays fixed.
Instead of thinking about ticket prices on a per-trip basis, the Incredi-Pass shifts the math to a per-year approach. Each additional trip lowers the effective cost of park admission and parking, especially once you move beyond a single vacation.
Where the Savings Come From
The value of the Incredi-Pass doesn’t come from one single discount—it comes from layered savings over time:
- Park tickets are covered for every trip after the pass is purchased
- Parking costs are eliminated on park days
- Dining and merchandise discounts reduce in-park spending
- Park Hopper access is included, avoiding upgrade costs
Individually, these savings might not feel dramatic. Across multiple trips, they compound.
Why Break-Even Happens Faster Than Many Expect
For families planning more than one Disney trip in a year, the break-even point often arrives sooner than expected. After the first trip or two, additional visits typically cost far less than they would with standard ticket purchases—because the largest expense (park admission) has already been paid.
The exact break-even point varies based on:
- Number of trips
- Length of each visit
- Number of park days
- Family size
That’s why the Incredi-Pass works best for frequent visitors, not one-time trips.
How We Planned Multiple Disney Trips Using the Incredi-Pass
Planning with an annual pass looks different than planning a one-time Disney trip. Instead of optimizing for a single vacation, we planned an entire year of Disney visits around flexibility, points, and repeat savings.
Doing the Math on Becoming an Annual Passholder
Currently, it’s the only option available for most people, unless you’re a Florida resident or Disney Vacation Club member. The Incredi-Pass is priced at $1,549 plus tax, totaling approximately $1,755.
For our family, this breaks down to about $390 per person per trip ($1,755 divided by our four planned trips). This calculation may vary for others, depending on the number of trips you have planned.
If you are a Florida resident or Disney Vacation Club member then there are several types of Walt Disney World Annual Passes you can pick from (Disney Pirate pass, Disney Sorcerer pass, and the Disney Pixie Dust Pass. The main different between the types of annual passes is blackout dates and the price.
A theme park reservation is needed for annual passholders, for most days they intend to visit the parks.
Benefits of the Incredi-Pass
- No Blockout Dates: Enjoy unrestricted access to the parks throughout the year.
- Passholder Discounts: Benefit from dining and merchandise discounts, special events, and discounts on Disney World Resorts.
- Free Standard Theme Park Parking: Save $30 per day on parking fees.
- Park Hopper Option: Park Hopping allows you to visit more than one Disney park per day, allowing flexibility in your itinerary.
- Add-Ons: Options like the Water Park and Sports add-on are available for an additional fee ( we love Typhoon Lagoon).
Having the option to visit more than one Disney park per day is not necessary, but it is a really nice perk. My kids love park hopping to Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot in the evening to watch the fireworks or Disney Hollywood Studios to watch the nighttime show after a day at Animal Kingdom or the water parks. There is something magical about Galaxy’s Edge at Disney Hollywood Studios after dark. For us, park hopping is a big benefit of being a passholder.
Note, that we are also adding access to the water parks to our annual passes, as my kids love the Typhoon Lagoon.

Cost of Walt Disney Incredi-Pass vs. Regular Disney Tickets: Cost Comparison
To determine if the Disney World annual pass is a smart investment, compare it to regular ticket costs. For example, a 6 day park hopper plus ticket for Disney Parks during our April travel dates would be $877 per person. Adding $30 per day for standard parking totals $1,057 for a 6-day trip for 1 person. Considering the dining and merchandise discounts, an annual pass can save you hundreds of dollars on a second trip. The same concept applies to shorter trips as well.
Keep in mind, this math maybe different for everyone depending on theme park ticket prices for when you plan to visit Walt Disney World and ticket type. Ticket prices for Walt Disney World theme park tickets vary based on date, length of your visit, and ticket type. For example, 6-day tickets cost less per day than a 2-day ticket.
Another option is to purchase an annual pass for one family member and regular tickets for the rest. An annual pass purchase for one family member allows access to passholder discounts (dining discounts can add up quick) for the entire family while providing flexibility in ticket purchases. Take the merchandise discount and dining discounts into your calculation of if an annual pass purchase is right for you.
Another perk of the Walt Disney World Annual Pass is the option to add Disney PhotoPass downloads for an additional $99 plus tax per year. This service allows you to capture high-quality, memorable photos throughout your trip.
Throughout the parks, cast members are available to take pictures in iconic locations, such as in front of Cinderella Castle, which you can then download via the My Disney Experience app. The Disney PhotoPass service also includes ride photos; to ensure these appear in your app, you may need to scan them after each ride. Only one person in your group needs to add Disney PhotoPass, as they can share the downloaded pictures with the rest of the group.
While we are not using points for our Walt Disney World tickets this time, there are several ways to save money on tickets using reward points. For instance, some credit card programs allow you to redeem points at a fixed rate or via a cash-back card to cover ticket purchases. Additionally, certain cards offer the ability to redeem points for travel purchases, which can include theme park tickets.
5-Trip Savings Breakdown
Our Incredi-Passes cost $1,755 each, or $7,020 total for our family of four (including tax and the water park option). If we bought tickets and parking separately for each trip, it would have cost $17,266.
That’s a savings of $10,246 over 5 trips and 27 park days — which brings our cost down to about $65 per person per park day.
Here’s the updated breakdown:
By adding that spontaneous 5th trip, we stretched our passes even further and cut our per-trip cost from about $1,800 to roughly $1,400, without spending a penny more on tickets.

Additional Disney World Savings Beyond Tickets
We further reduced overall costs by:
- Driving instead of flying when possible
- Staying off-property using hotel points
- Planning meals intentionally rather than relying on impulse dining
- Using passholder discounts whenever available
By lowering lodging and transportation costs, the value of the Incredi-Pass became even more meaningful, since tickets were no longer the largest expense of each trip.
Why the Incredi-Pass Can Be Worth It
For families planning multiple Disney trips, the Incredi-Pass can be a powerful tool—not because it’s cheap upfront, but because it replaces repeated ticket purchases and allows savings to compound over time.
In our experience, the biggest benefit was flexibility: being able to visit the parks multiple times within a year without re-evaluating ticket prices for each trip.
This approach isn’t right for everyone—but for frequent visitors who plan intentionally, the economics can shift dramatically.
In the end, it’s not just about saving money; it’s about crafting a unique adventure that suits our tastes while still capturing the magic of Disney.
